Brighton & Hove’s CDIT digital media sector is a success story. It’s worth £713m (nearly as much as tourism), jobs are growing 10 times faster than the UK average, the average age of company founders is 41, a third of them come from arts and humanities backgrounds and 90% of them have moved to the city from other places.

The big challenges are high office rents, slow broadband and the disconnect between education bodies and CDIT business needs – which anyone trying to recruit a developer already knows.
