We’re supporting Women’s History Festival
We’re supporting Brighton Women’s History Festival – a new event with talks, guided tours, films, workshops and exhibitions.
Taking place on Saturday 14th March, the festival includes events about suffragettes, women in policing, the post-war black market and all kinds of pioneering women from Brighton and Hove, as well as activities for children.
Speakers will include a talk on Sarah Forbes Bonetta (pictured), a West African “princess” who was captured and given to Queen Victoria. See more at Wikipedia or the Brighton & Hove Black History Website.
If you want to contribute to help the festival, which is being organised by Free University Brighton, visit the Crowdfunder appeal or go here to see more information about the festival.
